We also had to decorate our doors in a creative way! We chose a reading theme and each child created 6 tiles to write on. They recorded their favourite books, characters, and wrote why they love reading in English and their mother tongue. They then dyed and painted their tiles using watercolours...creating a rainbow door. We went for a walk in the afternoon to see the other innovative door designs. Congratulations to Grade 3, Ms Lisa's class who scooped up the prize for best door design!
Progressive Book
On Tuesday we received an unfinished book. It was started by EY2, and was then developed through KG and grade 1. We decided what happened next in the story, then wrote the text and illustrated it. Each grade completed a page and today grade 5 finished the story! Next week we will view the finished product and will share the story with you!
MATHEMATICS - GEOMETRY
In math this week we have been exploring geometry. Children have been engaging in activities to assist them to recognise and name the attributes of 2d and 3d shapes. They also created art from shapes to add to their UOI creative journals. I have added related tasks on mathletics to reinforce learning at home.
Today Ms Theary shared one of her favourite childhood tales when she shared a Khmer story and translated it in English! The children loved it and made many connections to other familiar stories in English.
