During the first few days, we spent time getting to know each other better and established class and school routines. Students wrote questions on the first day and we generated a list of all the things we want to know about being in grade 2. Learners have been finding the answers and recording them as they are discover them.
We went on a scavenger hunt in the classroom to find out about each-other and the learning environment.
In Mathematics, we have been learning our math routines and expectations, and familiarised ourselves with games and equipment. These photos show students as they problem solved how to piece together a hundreds chart and solved related questions.
We made name-tags using watercolour dyes for our cubbies and the wall, and made connections to the places we were born and the places we have lived.
We have had plenty of fun switching on to our learning through music, games, and activities like finger fitness and cosmic yoga.
We began to reflect on our feelings and understandings at the start and end of learning sessions.
