Grade 2 students are studying a unit of inquiry which falls under the transdisciplinary theme How the World Works. Students will be learning about the application of scientific principles through the use of simple machines. Our central idea is: The application of scientific principles through the use of simple machines makes work easier.
To find out more about where simple machines are found and how they work, students will visit the playground in Wat Botum Park on Friday 3rd March from 8.00 - 10.00am.
At the playground the students will be researching and experiencing what are the simple machines in the playground and how do they work? Their observations and questions will start their inquiries.
We will leave ISPP at 8.00am and estimate the travel time to the playground to be 30 minutes. We will spend 1 hour at the playground We plan on leaving the playground at 9.30am to return to ISPP. We will be traveling by bus.
