How We Express Ourselves

This week we are staring our new unit of Inquiry "How We Express Ourselves'
This is
'An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity.'

Central idea:
Personal perspective influences how we create art.

Lines of Inquiry:
  • Different forms of artistic expression
  • The ways personal perspective influence artistic expression
  • The ways personal perspective influence interpretation

The unit focuses on perspective, creativity, and imagination. As a starting point for the unit, we are looking at how we can use our imagination to 'create' something unexpected from an everyday object.

This story 'Not a Box' shows how one child using their imagination to turn the box into something magical. Our task is to turn a stick into something unexpected. What will you come up with?

It is not easy to find sticks in Phnom Penh...so if you can find a stick please bring it in before Friday this week.
