The First Day Back
We had a wonderful first day in grade 2. The children were enthusiastic and helpful...a great sign of things to come! Today we learned more about each-other and our environment when we completed a class scavenger hunt.
During the day, we met many of the teachers who will be supporting us in our learning, including; Ms Petra, Ms Alison, Mr Ben, Ms Julie, and Ms Dana.
We started to create mini booklets about ourselves, and drew self portraits on the cover. We also made funky handprints and colorful name tags for our cubby holes.
We are looking forward to the rest of the week!

Hello!
I am married to Mr Simon (who teaches in Grade 4), and have two awesome daughters in grades 7 and 9.
I really love all subject areas, but I'm passionate about literacy and the arts. I like to paint, cook, and spend time with friends and family.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I spent my holidays traveling around the beautiful North and South Islands of New Zealand. Here are some pictures from my holiday.
The other class teachers in our Grade 2 team are Ms. Courtney and Mr. Johnny.
We do a lot with the other classes in our grade...so if your friend from last year is not in this class...do not worry!
We are very lucky to have Ms. Yin as our classroom assistant this year.
The other assistants in our grade are Ms Chanty and Ms Dalish.
Our Class
This year our class is starting the year with 19 returning students and 3 new pupils. Our new students are coming from America, India, and Korea. We will have 13 boys and 10 girls in the class.
Here are our returning students!

Timetable
You will need to bring PE gear and sports shoes on Tuesday’s and Thursdays, and swimwear, a cap, goggles, and a towel on Wednesday.
You need to come prepared to school each day with sunscreen, a healthy snack, and water. Your ISPP hat remains at school.
You can change your library book any day before or after school, but we will go to the library as a class on Tuesdays.
Home Learning
You will be expected to read every night. I have books in class for you to select from, or you can read a book from home or the library. Any home learning tasks will be posted on this blog.
I can't wait to meet you all on Monday! Have a great weekend.
Ms Karyn
